I’d really enourage you to pray for the team behind the World Cup Cafe. They’ve freely given up their summer to share the Good News with kids from in and around Enniskillen. Here’s a few prayer points that’ll keep you busy:

Thank God for the kids who have been faithful in coming so far. Thank Him for the friendships that are being built up, pray for deeper and more fuller conversations as well as piles of fun!

Pray that those who are reluctant to come, for whatever reason, would come along. Pray that those who normally would never dare enter a Church would be drawn in and drawn into a relationship with Jesus. Pray that faith, as well as numbers, would increase!

Pray that more people would become involved in the World Cup Cafe prayer-room. Why don’t you make use of it for yourself? Prayer is the one thing that sustains His work, ask God to give His people a heart for prayer ministry.

Pray for more volunteers to step forward. Even though the World Cup Cafe team is faithful they are small in number and could do with a few pairs of extra hands! Pray that the right people would step up to the challenge and devote themselves to this service.

Also pray for the team. Pray that amidst the rush they’d be able to not only snatch a few moments with God but with each other as well. Pray that they would have more time to bond as a team. Pray for practical things as well, that God would give them the wisdom when it comes to discipline and that they would get enough rest so that they can give themselves fully to the work.

Please pray for the leadership and team members as well as those they are reaching out to… connie :]

And another thing…

This SUNDAY 20th June – the EYFC “we will NOT stay SILENT” Road Show. 7pm in Darling Street Methodist Church with speaker Ken Robinson & the MANNAFEST band. Your last chance to see the current Mannafest Band!

Hate football? Try the alternative – Life@two:42 with Alan Synott on Friday 25th June starting at 8pm [if you don't hear it, how can you live it?]

WORLD CUP CAFE – every match live on a big screen in the McArthur Hall.

Hope to see you there!

The Prayer:

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe on those who call evil good’, but that’s exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values.

We confess that:

We ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism.

We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.

We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.

We have abused power and called it political savvy.

We have coveted our neighbour’s possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honoured values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, O God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free… I ask it in the name of your Son, the Living Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.”

“What an amazing concluding night Saturday was. Many people came to know Christ for the first time, and hundreds came forward for prayer and ministry… The final night was powerful and memorable in equal measure – the Holy Spirit really ministered to His people and this night will live long in the memory of all who were there, especially those who responded to the call of God to return to relationship with him.”

Even though the event itself is behind us we should be reminded of what’s before us…

Pray for the follow-up. Pray that those who responded to the call will make it along to the meetings, find a home in a Church, and become active in service.

Pray for safety as Angus travels and protection over those who organised the event as no doubt they need God’s strength in the next few days.

Pray that God will continue His work in the hearts and the homes of all who responded… One thing we can be sure of is that He hasn’t finished, He’s barely begun!! Let’s unite together, let this be our prayer!!

The full article (written by Jo Herbert, June 10th 2010) can be found on http://www.24-7prayer.com/features/1261

“Love it or loath it, the World Cup is upon us and football/soccer mania has begun. Shirts with nationalities and emblems are a common sight; flags are flying on cars, in pubs and homes. In England footy anthems are jostling for a position in the music charts and newspapers, restaurants and pubs are launching tournament themed events. In the midst of all this activity hundreds of athletes have made there way to one nation to pit their skill against each other to decide who takes home the coveted cup.

It’s easy to get caught up in the competition but as we follow the highs and lows of the most watched sporting event on planet earth let’s remember the nation and it’s people beyond the Football stadiums. With an influx of people there is always a mixture of good and bad… Tourism bolsters business and brings new revenue to city, but an increase in population often brings a rise in crime and can prove a strain on areas of society already at risk.

So what else is going on in the cities of South Africa as this huge tournament is played out?

If we just zoom in on Durban we see that there is so much we don’t hear of. Durban is home to (as of Jan ’09) 6,000 street children, to much poverty, deprivation, vulnerable people and those who would seek to take advantage of them. The children of Durban will be especially vulnerable as the world flocks to their city and takes over the pubs, restaurants, bars and hotels. Those who make a living out of selling people, often children into slavery will mix in with the thousands of oblivious fans making themselves difficult to identify.

In Galations 2:10, Peter and Paul agree that the one thing they must all do is remember the poor. God requires that from us too.

If you are a football fan, I want to ask if you will join me in praying for the many vulnerable people on the streets of Durban and for those working with them at the beginning of each match you watch. Please also talk to the people you are with about the risk of human trafficking so that others are made aware of what goes on behind the scenes.”

Lord God, we live in disturbing days:
     across the world,
     prices rise,
     debts increase,
     banks collapse,
     jobs are taken away,
and fragile security is under threat.
Loving God, meet us in our fear and hear our prayer:
be a tower of strength amidst the shifting sands,
and a light in the darkness;
help us receive your gift of peace,
and fix our hearts where true joys are to be found,
in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

Please pray over this Scripture Union mission (Monday 5th – Friday 9th July 2010)… This will be its third year running, it’s been a joy to see it grow and mature over the past couple of summers. This year it’s even more action packed than ever! Please pray that it will bring the kids in, not just from the town but from outside it too… Pray that God would be working in their hearts in the run-up to it. Pray that ears will be open to the Message and that eyes would be opened for the very first time. Another prayer point would be for Christians to have the courage to ask their friends along. Thanks, connie :]

Are you a teenager who gets bored in the summer holidays? Are you a child who is wanting some action packed adventure? Or are you a parent who would love an oasis of space for a few afternoons while your children enjoy themselves?

Yes, it’s that time of the year again – Enniskillen 360° is back for all children and teenagers in the Fermanagh area!! We don’t want you to miss this opportunity to come along to the exciting activities we have lined up this summer.

Enniskillen 360° teens programme is back for all 11-18 year olds, taking place this year in 3 different venues across the town from Monday 5h – Friday 9th July.

Our 3 afternoon venues are back by popular demand so if you’re a sports lover then get yourself along to the Cathedral Halls for some 360° Sport action, or for the more creative types we have the 360° Art stream going on at two:42 on Wesley Street. And all you girls don’t forget the ever popular 360° Beauty venue at Enniskillen Presbyterian Halls filled with nail bars, beauty products and much more. These venues will run between 2-4pm every day.

Some evenings in the week we will join up with the World Cup CafÈ which is happening in the Methodist Halls for some World Cup big screen action, before ending the week with 2 nights in our Chill Out Venue at two:42. Our Chill venue will be open to all young people and will be nights filled with chat, food, live music, multimedia, interviews and a whole lot more, so make sure you get yourself along there on the Thursday and Friday nights.

This year we are also launching a brand new venture for kids from 7-11 years old. This fresh element to the 360 project designed specifically for children will run from Monday 5th – Friday 9th July and will be held each afternoon from 2-4pm in Enniskillen Integrated Primary School.

We would love to see as many kids as possible in our venue enjoying the games, crafts, songs and activities, led by our team. And while this is all going on, the parents can nip up the lane to enjoy and relax at a special cafÈ at the Stables complex.

The kids programme will finish with a Parents and Friends night on Friday 9th July at the Stables from 7.30 -9pm, where the kids will show some of the things they have learned throughout the week.

We hope you are excited about what’s happening in your area this July. We certainly are and will look forward to seeing you there! We would love to see as many folks make it along to this as possible. Don’t miss it!!

Ever-present, ever-loving God,
May your gentle spirit surprise us,
shatter our complacency
and wake us
from our dreams.
We know the time is now.

May your urgent spirit send us out,
and demand our courage;
may we set forth the stories of truth
in the face of the story of power.
May world leaders listen to us.

May your comforting spirit
turn us towards the discomfort
of knowing, seeing
and understanding.
The hour has come to act.

May your holy spirit
burn through us,
and call us
to tell even those who aren’t ready to listen
that the world can’t wait.
Amen.

Maizen Grace Email Update – MAY 2010

From the 10th to the 12th June 2010, evangelist Angus Buchan from shalom ministries will be visiting Ireland in response to the invitation offered by Maize N’ Grace.

May Prayer Letter
We can all thank God from the bottom of our hearts for the answers to our prayers that we have witnessed as we come closer to the actual event. It is a wonderful blessing to know that so many people are praying.
Please also note that there are prayer meetings every morning at 7.00 am and every Thursday evening at 8.00pm so wherever you are in the world, join with us at these times to pray for the event!
WE CAN PRAISE GOD FOR:
The number of people booking tents and caravans on the site
The number of people organising buses
The excellent news paper coverage
The generous donations to the event
The help we are receiving with the discipleship programme
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
Angus as he seeks Gods guidance as he prepares for his preaching.
That many will come to Maizengrace especially the folk who would not normally come to a place of worship
There will be an awesome outpouring of His Holy Spirit in the lead up and during the event.
God will be glorified in all that happens at Maizengrace.
Safe travel
That there will be plenty of helpers to undertake all the logistics, and they will come to our helpers evening on the 25th May.
That many people will commit their lives to Christ
Your prayers are very much appreciated
20th May 2010

Website updated
With the increasing amount of information on the site, and the fact we are into the final countdown until Angus arrives, we have updated the look of the website – to give it that fresh feel, and to make it easier for you to find your way around. The menu items are bigger and have more options to enable a quick and easy transition around the site.
We have also added a countdown timer to the site to keep the excitement rising for the event itself! So please check out our new look site and get in touch with us if you need anything – or want to offer us some feedback.

Register to camp now with updated options
Should you wish to camp with a camper van, or a caravan, then we can accomodate you – but you must let us know! We also are now offering breakfast for all those who camp with us however you do need to register for this to give us an idea of numbers! CLICK HERE TO BOOK.
If you have already booked – there is NO NEED to book again or register for breakfasts.

Help Needed for the event
We are still looking for help with things like car park stewarding, marshalling the crowds, helping with logistics – so if you feel you can offer your time then please do! We are all accutely aware of the verse in Matthew 9 verse 37: “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Andy Young is the worship leader at Maize N Grace
Andy Young and a team from Vineyard Church Dungannon will be leading the worship at the event. Andy has been leading worship for over 10 years and he continues to be excited by helping people connect with God through worship. Click here to listen to some of his songs…

FAQ’s added to the site
Due to the large number of emails we recieve asking varius questions, we have put an FAQ section on the site to answer all those questions everyone seems to want answered… Check out the menu bar at the top of the site to find it!

Get involved!!
There are many ways to get involved with Maize N’ Grace, check the website for details, but an overview of the four main areas we need covered are:
Prayerfully – regular prayer letters and updates appear online
Logistically eg: stewarding, joinery, technical expertise…
Marketing – send this on to your contacts, and promote the event in your church
Discipleship – this needs co-ordinated after the event
Should you feel you can offer to help, then please let us know as soon as possible! All offers of help are warmly recieved!

Don’t forget the best way to remain updated with latest news and events is to join our facebook group online, and to regularly check the website.

Over to you…
We at Maize N’ Grace do not rest on our laurels when it comes to promoting this once in a lifetime event, and so we are involving you in passing the batton on to you.
Forward this email on to 10 people in your address book who you think would really appreciate hearing about this event and soon enough we can reach hundreds if not thousands of people!
